Rove is a plan-first iOS dating app for men and women. He posts a specific night: the activity, the time, and a public place. She sees his photo with the plan, then can mark Interested in that plan — for example, Interested in Aggie Ice Cream, Wednesday at 7.
These pages are written by the Rove Dating team for students at BYU, UVU, the University of Utah, and Utah State. Rove’s current launch is Utah Valley. Download the app to see which plans are actually nearby. The date-first habit still helps on every campus below: name a time and a place she can picture.
Rove is $1/week after a 30-day free trial in iOS. There is no website signup. Create an account in the App Store.
Pick your campus
Each campus page is a short student guide: how plan-first dating fits a class week, 10 to 15 public places near that campus, and a few example posts. The activities stay wholesome — museums, creamery and ice cream stops, parks, trails, and campus events. No bar crawl required.
BYU — Provo
Honor-Code-safe plans around campus: the Creamery, free museums, the Y, the parkway, and short midweek dates. See also dating apps for BYU and UVU students.
UVU — Orem
Roots of Knowledge, the Noorda, SCERA, University Place, Utah Lake, and soda-shop weeknights that fit a commuter campus. Pair with date ideas in Orem.
University of Utah — Salt Lake City
Red Butte Garden, the Natural History Museum of Utah, Ensign Peak, Liberty Park, and other public SLC plans. Longer list: date ideas in Salt Lake City.
Utah State — Logan
Aggie Ice Cream, First Dam, Logan Canyon, Tony Grove, and seasonal Bear Lake shakes. Full Logan list: date ideas in Logan.
How plan-first dating works on campus
A student week is already booked. The useful date is short, public, and already on a calendar. “Want to hang out sometime” puts the work on her. “Bean Museum, then the Creamery, Wednesday at 6” is easy to accept or decline.
On Rove, men post that plan with their photo first. Women browse the person and the night together. If it fits, she marks Interested in that plan. She can share the night with friends over iMessage before she decides.

What a good campus plan looks like
Keep it public, specific, and easy to leave. Forty-five minutes of dessert between study sessions beats a perfect Saturday that never gets scheduled. Tuesday and Wednesday are less crowded than Friday.
Name the place the way a local would: Aggie Ice Cream on campus, Roots of Knowledge in the Fulton Library, Ensign Peak above the Avenues, First Dam at the mouth of Logan Canyon. Invented restaurants and “downtown hang” are harder to say yes to.
Plans like this, with the person first
Example nights a man could post. The feed shows his photo first, then the plan. A woman would mark Interested in that plan — not a generic “Requested.”
