People type “ChatGPT dating app” because they already talk to ChatGPT about Friday night, and the usual swipe apps still make them invent the date after a match. Rove is the plan-first iOS app for men and women: he posts a specific night, she sees his photo first next to the plan, and she can mark Interested in that plan. ChatGPT becomes useful when it can look at those live plans instead of guessing a venue.
This guide is written by the Rove Dating team. It covers how to connect ChatGPT to Rove, prompts that actually work, and what you will see when results come back. Full product context lives on Rove + Your AI. There is no signup on this website. Start the 30-day free trial in iOS; after that Rove is $1/week.
What “ChatGPT dating” actually means here
ChatGPT does not run a separate dating network. Rove members connect it as a custom MCP server at rovedating.com/mcp, then Sign in with Apple using the same Apple ID as the iOS app. From that point ChatGPT can search date plans, draft a plan for a man to review, and show interest only after you confirm.
That is different from asking ChatGPT for pickup lines or a generic “best first date in Provo” list. Those answers are not tied to a real person who already picked a time. On Rove, a result is a host with a photo, a first name, an age, and a night that already exists. If nothing is posted for Saturday, ChatGPT should say so rather than invent a match.
Rove is launching in Utah Valley — Provo, Orem, Lehi, BYU, UVU, and nearby cities — with the same neighborhood in ChatGPT as in the app. It is for men and women dating each other. Men post. Women browse and can mark Interested. ChatGPT uses your account and the same limits as the phone.
Connect ChatGPT to Rove
You need an iOS Rove account first. In the app, open the Connect to AI sheet. It has tabs for Claude, ChatGPT, Meta Muse, and My apps. The ChatGPT tab walks you through adding Rove as a connector. You can also do it on the web. Exact screens change when OpenAI moves settings; if a label differs, use Rove + Your AI as the live checklist.
- Download Rove Dating on the App Store and start the 30-day free trial.
- Open ChatGPT on the web. Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors. Some accounts use chatgpt.com/plugins. If you see Advanced settings, turn on Developer Mode first.
- Choose Create or Add custom MCP server. Name it Rove. Server URL: https://rovedating.com/mcp
- Set authentication to OAuth. Create the connector, then Sign in with Apple on Rove’s consent screen.
- Start a new chat and ask for a real plan — for example, “find me a Saturday hike date near Provo.” Confirm before ChatGPT shows interest or posts anything.
Prompts that return a person and a plan
Be specific about day, city, and activity. Vague “find me a date” dumps whatever is nearby. A Saturday hike near Provo, a Wednesday Creamery stop, or a Lehi garden hour is easy for ChatGPT to search. Results should lead with the person’s photo, then the plan. If you like the night, say you want to mark Interested in that plan and include a short note. ChatGPT should show you the message and wait.
Men can ask ChatGPT to draft a plan, not to fire it into the feed. “Draft a Wednesday 6:30 parkway walk and Creamery in Provo, I pay, meet there” is a complete night. Read the draft, then confirm before it posts. For first-date structure, use plan a first date with AI and the local Utah date ideas guides.
Find a Saturday hike
“Find me a Saturday hike date near Provo. Show each man’s photo first, then the plan, time, and place.”
Thursday in Orem
“What Thursday-night plans are posted around Orem? Summarize three with photos. Do not mark Interested until I pick one.”
Draft a Creamery night
“Draft a Wednesday 6:30 plan: Provo River Parkway walk, then the BYU Creamery. I pay. Wait for me to confirm before posting.”
Check interest
Men: “Any new interest on my Saturday garden plan?” Women: “Show the plans I marked Interested in this week.”
Photo-first, then confirm
Rove is photo-first on purpose. Dating starts with whether you want to meet this person. ChatGPT should not hide the face behind a paragraph of venue trivia. Each option is the photo, first name, age, and the plan together — the same shape as the in-app feed.
Nothing important happens in the background. ChatGPT does not get Rove push alerts. It does not mark Interested or publish a plan until you say yes. You can revoke the connector later in the iOS app under Connected AI apps. For a product-shape comparison with swipe apps, read best dating apps in Utah Valley and how Rove works.
What ChatGPT should show you
Example Utah Valley nights. In ChatGPT, each card should lead with the host’s photo, then the plan. A woman would mark Interested in Saturday hike near the Y — not a generic “request.” Faces below are examples, not members.

Tyler, 26
Saturday hike near the Y
Provo · Saturday 8:00 AM

Ethan, 27
Parkway walk, then the Creamery
Provo · Wednesday 6:30 PM

Sam, 29
Thanksgiving Point gardens
Lehi · Saturday 11:00 AM
Frequently asked questions
Is ChatGPT a dating app?
No. ChatGPT is an assistant. Rove is the dating app. When you connect them, ChatGPT can search real Rove plans, draft a night for you to review, and mark Interested only after you confirm.
Do I need ChatGPT Plus or a special plan?
You need a ChatGPT account that can add a custom MCP connector (Developer Mode on some accounts). Rove membership is separate: 30-day free trial in iOS, then $1/week. See Rove + Your AI for the current ChatGPT steps.
Can ChatGPT message people for me on Tinder or Hinge?
No. This connector only talks to your Rove account. It cannot swipe, match, or send chats on other apps.
What does Interested in a plan mean?
On Rove, a woman marks Interested in a specific night the man posted. ChatGPT should use that wording and wait for your confirmation before it does it.
